Infotrak Voice Of The People Poll Release January 2024
Voice of the People (VOP) Poll: Economic Hardships
A nationally representative telephone survey of 1,500 Kenyan adults conducted between 18th–19th December 2023, examining the economic hardships facing households, the coping strategies they are using, and their outlook for 2024.
Methodology
Data Collection
Quantitative interviews were conducted through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) between 18th–19th December 2023.
The survey involved 1,500 people to represent the universe of adult Kenyans who were 18 years and above at the time of the survey. The sampling frame was designed using Population Proportionate to Size (PPS) guided by the 2019 Census.
The survey covered all 47 counties and 8 regions of Kenya. To ensure national representativeness, the distribution of the survey sample across the regions was proportionately allocated.
Margin of error: ±2.53% at 95% degree of confidence. Response rate: 94%.
Where the achieved interviews differed slightly from the intended sampled proportions per demographic group, the dataset was weighted to correct for over or under sampling. Data was processed and analysed using SPSS version 26 statistical software.
